Bricktown in Oklahoma City

One of the most hidden treasures for adventurers of all levels and ages.  My daughter and I, coming from a place with few family activities to choose from, felt overwhelmed with all the available activities in Bricktown and within walking distance.  We realized that we should have set apart more time to spend there.

We started off by walking along the serene, tranquil, and scenic canal in Bricktown.  Along the path are spectacular memorials to the Land Rush and Native Americans.  Further along you will come upon savory restaurants like Toby Keith's, night clubs like Coyote Ugly, the Marble Slab ice cream, Brickopolis, miniature golf, artwork that will amaze, tour boats, and an amazing candy store.  Brickopollis is a multi-story game center, clothes store, food place, and laser tag arena.

Walking one way along the path outside of Bricktown will lead you to the Boathouse District.  Here you will find white water rafting, kayaking, canoeing, zip lining and river cruises.  When the Olympics come to the US, part of it will be in Oklahoma (water sports, and softball).  The water sports will be in the Boathouse District.  If you go away from the Boathouse District, you will enter Scissor Tale Park, the Botanical Garden, Convention Center, Paycom Arena (OKC Thunder) and the Love Lock Bridge.

My daughter and I stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn in Bricktown and loved it.  From the moment we walked in we were met with such great service and very friendly staff.  The rooms are clean and comfortable with a kitchenette and living room.  Great place to work out with weight rooms and a nice cool outdoor pool.  Breakfast is included in the stay with a delicious buffet each morning.

We didn't have time to visit the many museums, the zoo, a science museum for the kids, an amusement park, Route 66 attractions like Pops, the many lakes with Lake Hefner being my favorite with sail boats, a light house, and restaurants with live music.  For those that like casinos and horse racetracks, look no further than just down the road.

I have included a link to some videos of the area and hotel where we stayed.

I'm including some videos of the area in the link.  It will take you to the Mem-Gen Travel Instagram page.  I will start adding links to YouTube videos as I create them for future spotlights.
